Devon 8th March 2014

Daddy, Mummy and Emily visited Devon for a weekend while Jo went to Crufts.

First we all visited Overbecks.  One of Mummies favourite NT properties.

The view over the estuary was amazing!

Emily enjoying a pouch in the cafe.

View of the house.  Off for a walk now.

They had the most amazing magnolia tree there, It is ever so old.  The flowers were simply stunning.

The sun was out and the views amazing, there weren't that many flowers but there was still plenty to explore!

Emily feeling a very prickly plant!

Inside the house is a secret room under the stairs.  It is filled with Dolls houses.  Em loved looking in all the cupboards.  We had to find the little top ghost while we were in there.  He was sat on a piano stool!

Next we went to visit Saltrum.  We hadn't been here before, the views were amazing, such a lovely finish to the day.

 Unusual tree!

The rear view of the house.  Next stop is to try to find our accommodation for the night.  It was very late when we got there so no photos til morning I'm afraid!

Our very lovely hostess bought us a basket of goodies for breakfast, veggie sausages, fresh eggs from their chickens, fresh bread, homemade jam and honey and a few pastries!

Here is the little kitchen.

This is where we slept.  On a futon!  Em had a travel cot.

We had a wood burner as our only source of heat, we had a list of instructions to follow and amazingly we managed to keep it going until the morning!

Daddy and Emily outside our temp home!

We also visited Knightshayes but I can't find the photos yet so will update when I do.
